Invitation by President of ASPA
INVITATION
Dear friends and colleagues
The COVID-19 pandemic created a major disruption to medical education worldwide and will continue to pose challenges to learners and educators alike even as we now transit to a post vaccine world.
In the last 2 years, ASPA has persevered to promote education and learning through the pandemic with our ASPA FLEX lecture series, made possible by the many speakers in and around Asia who generously contributed their time and effort to share their knowledge and experience.
Asia is the most populous continent in the world, making up to almost 60% of the world’s population and a quarter of that population is under 15 years of age. ASPA is committed to developing leaders in Paediatric Anaesthesia in Asia.
Taking a quote from Nelson Mandela, “ Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”. In the same vein, ASPA aims to encourage education and research to make anaesthesia safer and reliable for all children in Asia.
In addition to training, ASPA hopes to foster collaboration and friendship amongst paediatric anaesthetists and the occasional paediatric anaesthetists.
So in this year 2022, as the world start to emerge from the pandemic, I encourage everyone to join us in Istanbul for the 18th ASPA meeting.
For those who are not able to join the meeting physically, we welcome you to join us virtually.
18th ASPA meeting- “Paediatric Anaesthesia Revisited- the Easy and the West” promises an interesting programme with talks and workshops. The theme reiterates the importance of working together towards the same goal of achieving greater heights when providing anaesthesia and pain relief in children.
We look forward to meeting everyone in person or virtually in Istanbul. Thank you
